  • 1 Tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
For the Rice:
  • 2 Cups Long Grain Basmati Rice
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 4 Green Cardamoms
  • 4 Cloves
  • 1 Small Cinnamon Stick
  • Salt to Taste
For the Biryani:
  • 2 Large Onions, Thinly Sliced
  • 2 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 2 Green Chilies, Slit
  • 2 Tbsp Ghee or Oil
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves, Chopped
  • Fresh Mint Leaves, Chopped
  • A Few Saffron Strands Soaked in Warm Milk (Optional)

Steps to Make Chicken Biryani

Follow these simple steps to prepare a delicious Chicken Biryani at home.

  • First, wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, marinate the chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, lemon juice, and salt. Let it rest for at least 1 hour.
  • Heat ghee or oil in a large pan and fry the sliced onions until golden brown.
  • Add tomatoes and green chilies, then cook until the tomatoes become soft.
